Major Walter Clark was a Confederate officer who was present at the the Battle of Bentonville during General William Tecumseh Sherman's march through North Carolina. In this document. He gives good information and detailed accounts of the events leading up to the battle as well as the aftermath and retreat. Also, it has perspectives from enlisted men. A valuable asset to see the war from both the perspective of the officer as well as the enlisted man.
