Dear Sir, --I have the pleasure to inform you of the safe arrival this day of the str. "Advance" from Wilmington.
The cargo consists of Five Hundred Bales of Cotton which I would suggest you insure against fire while now in the course of reshipment and hope to forward you Bills Lading per good ship shortly.
The Marine Insurance will commence on signing Bill of Lading which will be duly notified.--
News--"Venus" lost on Wilmington coast. No further progress by the enemy on Charleston.
