Ruffin's Other Court Decisions

Thomas Ruffin opinioned several other cases about slavery that further his position on slavery. The State v. Caesar case featured a dissenting opinion by Ruffin that stated that a slave should be charged with murder if he kills his master while defending his own life. Ruffin also forced two slaves back into the system after their master died in his decision in White v. Green.
